The Body Shop - Down to Earth Prune Quad

Saturday, October 22, 2016

So guess what I got my hands on?!
One of the new 'Down to Earth' eye-shadow quads from The Body Shop.
Super excited when I saw Kaushal's video on them and when I saw them
in The Body Shop Saudi,
I instantly had to get my hands on it.

There are a few smokey quads/palette:
Gold Quad
Brown Quad
Black Quad
Grey Quad
As well as a palette with 8 shadows!

I went with 04 which is more on the purple/mauve side.
I didn't think I needed another nudes palette
and even though I loved the deep navy shade, it was accompanied by smokey colors
and I didn't need any more smokey colors in my life (lol).
I chose this prune quad and I really love the combination.

Now we all know The Body Shop is 100% cruelty free and vegan
which is why I love the brand so much.

In the Video down below, you can see the foundation with camera lighting and in motion.

One swatch...how freaking pigmented!
SHADES:
Attica Marble
Petra Sandstone
Penrhyn Slate
Bengal Granite

Attica Marble is a matte colour (white). Petra Sandstone is a shimmer shade.
Penrhyn Slate and Bengal Granite are not matte shades but they do have a satin finish to it.

Also note the shimmer is not glittery and there was no fall out!

Even though the bottom two shades are not full matte they are so buildable and pigmented
that you can create a beautiful purple smokey eye.

Okay now how freaking cool is this,
the pans pop out! So you can switch pans if you have more than one quad.
This will make traveling easier when you just need a few different shades.

If you know much about me, you know I love the simple eye look.
I don't like to go over board or dramatic with my daily eye looks, but that's just me.

The shadows in this quad are so creamy
they swatch and apply beautifully, and
finally the shades are buildable.
You can use the quad to create looks on its own,
or pair it with other shadows you may love.

Now I do suggest using a pigmented primer when using these shadows,
so they pop more and stay on longer.
They don't fade away easily,
I wore mines all day till late at night without any primer,
it lightened towards the end of the night but wasn't patchy.

Now this has recently launched in Southern Africa,
but I'm not sure if Botswana's Body Shop has been stocked yet.
The quads retail for R400
and the glow palette, which has 8 shades, retails for R600.

I am going to try and play around with this palette,
try and do a dramatic look to show how versatile this palette really is.

lol my first attempt! Bare with me, I am still practicing.

  9. I love the names of the shades - so sensational. And they look really cool as well. I've only tried the eye make up a few times, I'm not patient with them but you've got my curiosity piqued now.
