The Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask Review

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

So The Body Shop has come out and released another mask,
so you know me I have been eyeing it as I saw it on my timeline constantly
and finally when it was stocked in my Body Shop I had to get my hands on it.

Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection is a  night mask
which intrigued me A LOT!
I've always wanted to try a night mask but never got around to it.
I must say it was such a weird experience
because silly me jumped into bed right after putting it on,
but to my surprise (yes it was uncomfortable waiting for it to dry)
even though it felt sticky,
it was not messy at all!

I AM OBSESSED WITH MASKS
and generally skincare,
I think it's very important to take care of your skin.
The Body Shop has so many ranges when it comes to skincare
and I am sure they will continue to release many more
so you are bound to find a range that suits your skin type and requirements perfectly.

SKIN BENEFITS OF TEA TREE OIL

  • TREATS ACNE - One of the main benefits of tea tree oil is how it combats acne. It contains strong antibacterial and anti-fungal compounds that reduces inflammation. Personally I used tea tree oil a lot when I suffered from cystic acne in my teen years and it really helped. I loved using the roll on oil from Dr Organic and nowadays my sister loves to use the tea tree oil from The Body Shop, that can be pricey so I suggest checking out a herbal store for an affordable rate.
  • KNOWN TO RELIEVE THE SKIN - When it comes to psoriasis and eczema it can help remove the dead skin cells yet not in a harsh way.  It also helps control the overproduction of skin cells and offers relief to the condition as well, while penetrating deep into the layers of the skin to diminish psoriasis scars as well. While with eczema it soothes the itching, it can fight and prevent any infections as well.
There aren't endless amounts of specific skin benefits when it comes to the face however tea tree oil it self can be used in countless of ways:
  • Makeup Remover (with some olive oil)
  • Deodorant
  • Ointment
I do think skin wise it is the best natural way to fight acne and help heal scars. A lot of the time cystic acne leaves open wounds, which is an open door to deep scars, pigmentation and worst of all an infection. From personal experience tea tree oil really has helped my sister and I, which is why when I got this mask I had very high hopes in terms of how much it would improve my skin.

BUT DOES IT ACTUALLY WORK?

That's the real question. So I personally have combination skin, there was a time I had full on frying pan oil situation lol  But after my accutane journey (which if you would like a post let me know) but skin type changed.
I also do not have sensitive skin which is why I am always on board to try different products so easily.
So even after accutane I do occasionally get acne, it's not as bad as it was before and so are the scars.
This mask is infused with Salicylic Acid which is a key ingredient in acne treating skincare products.

TEA TREE OIL + SALICYLIC ACID = YOU'RE GOING DOWN ACNE

So the mask itself has a smooth jelly texture, which I think is why it spreads easily and does not irritate you as you try to fall asleep.
Now as I said before it does feel sticky but it does not make a mess or spreads once it dries which I was a bit worried as I could feel the stickiness a bit.

I have used this mask a few times and I must say it did make my skin feel smooth and soft. I did feel a pimple start to form after a few days but it disappeared super quickly and did not completely form. I used the mask on a pimple I did have recently and it did subside it after 2 uses. Little does go a long way, you don't have to spread it thickly so you really can get more uses out of it.

If you do love tea tree oil in your skincare especially do deal with acne this is a mask you should pick up especially if you know you don't have time to mask, this is great to put on and go to sleep.

So the mask is around 75ml and goes for P180/R180.
The Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask and the Facial Brush can be purchased online or in store. Also remember to use your reward card when purchasing anything from The Body Shop, all those points really add up and saves you money.

In a lot of countries The Body Shop is considered 'drug store'
to me I consider it a luxury which is why I invest in their masks and skincare the most,
because I find not only is skincare important
but also because their quality of products is amazing.

Always remember what may work for one person may not work for another,
you do have to experiment because everyone's skin is different.
But once you know your skin,
you will find it easy to identify what is likely to work and what is not.

I do hope you enjoyed this review,

  2. Nice! Tea tree oil definitely has a lot of benefits. I can't remember the last time I tried a mask, probably 20 years ago, lol. I've never had too much problems with acne, and really never had any type of skin care regimen. But as I'm turning 41 this year, I'm more concerned now about keeping my skin healthy. I've noticed some changes lately and am looking to start some type of regimen. But it has to be low maitenance, lol. I Will be checking your blog for inspiration! :-)
