Ever since I saw the beautiful Asma launch these I have been dying to try them out.
She is a makeup artist who started her own skincare line.

Her skin is flawless Masha-Allah (Praise to Allah)
so you know I had to try her products out.
Asma was kind enough to send me these 2 products from her range,
which I incorporated into my usual routine to really try them out.
She has a few products in her skincare range,
I think 2 or 3 more if I am not mistaken.

Her products are:
not tested on animals which is super important to me,
all natural which is amazing for the skin,
and affordable which skincare usually isn't.

You can purchase her products via her Instagram:

I also have a mini skincare routine video using these products,
which is down below.

I love toning, you would think this is such a useless step in skincare but I love it. I feel it tightens my pores and mattifies my skin. Usually I use Rose Water as my toner on day's I don't feel so oily and when I do feel oily I like to use The Body Shop's Seaweed Toner which is amazing for oily skin.

When I received this product I was super excited to expand my options when it came to toning. I used it for 2 weeks straight to really give it a try and see if it helped and I did notice a difference in my skin. On the toner it suggests using day and night before applying the oil which is exactly what I did.

Note when I was trying both these products I was going through an oily phase, which is why most products I get really go through a test to see how much of a difference they made on my skin. The toner does claim to work on 'all skin types' and with my combination skin I could really put it to the test.

So this particular toner claims to:
  • Exfoliate and purify the skin.
  • Contains an ingredient 'Ginseng' which improves circulation.
  • It also contains Aloe Vera which comforts and hydrates the skin.
  • It refines the appearance of pores.
  • It gently generates cell renewal to reveal brighter and a more glowing complexion.
What I love about this toner is it's does NOT contain alcohol! This is common in most toners because of it's drying properties which helps with oily/combination skin, however as Muslims we have to be careful about such an ingredient in products we use and the amount it contains.
The 2 main ingredients for this toner is 'Rooibos' and 'Honeybush' which not only do they have great benefits for the skin but makes this toner SMELL AMAZING!
The Youthful Tonic Revitalizing Toner includes a few more ingredients that work wonders on the skin; witch hazel (which is another ingredient most toners have or most DIY toners can contain, castor oil, Glycolic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid just to name a few.

SKIN BENEFITS FOR THESE INGREDIENTS:

GINSENG - it's main benefit is to help with combat aging, while toning and brightening the skin.

ALOE VERA - contains anti-aging properties, stimulates collagen, moisturisng, helps heal scars and treats acne.

ROOIBOS - helps with eczema, has anti-aging properties and can help remove dead skin cells.

HONEYBUSH - helps prevent skin irritations, keeps the skin soft and silky, smells amazing.

WITCH HAZEL - helps treat acne, hyrdrates the skin, reduces puffiness, treats sunburn, protects the skin from sun damage and has anti-aging properties.

CASTOR OIL - can help heal inflamed skin, has anti-aging properties, reduces acne, hydrates the skin, makes the skin soft, helps fade blemishes and pigmentation.

GLYCOLIC ACID - helps treat fine lines, acne, blackheads, brightens the skin, smoothens out texture on the face and matifies the skin.

HYALURONIC ACID - keeps the skin moisturised, boasts collagen levels which fights wrinkles, helps the skin stay soft and look more healthier.

The toner contains 50ml and retails for R150, can be purchased through her instagram, which I have linked above.

 - BLOSSOM OIL BLEND REVITALIZING FACE OIL -

Ah a face oil, what a lot of people have recently been dripping onto their face in their skincare videos and as their pre-makeup preps, yet do they actually work, especially for oily skin?

I personally love oils and I have combination skin. I do go through phases where I am SUPER OILY especially recently and what better time to try the oil when I am oily because it does state 'for all skin types'.
Now that I have said that I do use oils in my routine, I may have my oily skin moments but I think oils bring a different type of hydration and element to my skin after using it but obviously one has to be aware on when to use an oil and how to use it that suits you skin type the best.

After speaking to Asma she did state the main ingredient (you can tell the main ingredient or the highest quantity of an ingredient in a product by how far along it's stated on the list, first being the highest and so on) is 'Grape Seed' which is incredibly hydrating and moisturising. However, it can cause acne if one does not know when to use this oil and how to use this oil in their routine depending on their skin type.

So this Blossom Oil Blend Revitalizing Face Oil is said to be infused with a complex of youth preserving oils to help improve the skin's resilience and radiance. Blossom oils nourishes the skin leaving it comforted and velvety to the touch.
The main scents of this oil is 'Rose' and 'Brazilian Orange' yet it's not an artificial scent, it smells natural and refreshing which I love. The scent is not intense where it lingers and because it had that fragrance I noted it did not break me out. Usually some people's skin are sensitive and react to fragrances which irritates their skin and cause them to break out.

On the packaging it states I should use 1 - 2 pumps day and night after using the toner. For extra use I could mix it into my moisturiser or foundation. I personally only used one pump after toning, I felt 2 was too much and I even used it with my foundation so I could really put the oil to the test.

Now the oil retails for R250 for 50ml, you can purchase the oil from the Blossom Blend Instagram Page which I have linked above.

- FINAL THOUGHT -

First let's talk about the Youthful Tonic Revitalizing Toner I LOVE IT! It's now a new staple in my routine and I will be repurchasing it once it finishes. I felt the toner really lived up to my expectations, which were very high.

How it helped me:
  • Keeps my face matte.
  • I feel my pores have shrank and my skin is more tight (but not in an uncomfortable way).
  • My skin is more brighter and my face feels plump.
I'm sure over time I will see more of a difference in my skin but to notice how it made my skin feel only after 2 weeks got me excited, plus points it smells amazing!

Personally I know my skin and if I use an oil day and night I will break out. I didn't break out while using this oil, but after my test I've decided to use this on days I feel dry, I feel I have texture or just before putting on a full face of makeup. I love using this oil before foundation especially if I'm getting glam for an occasion, it takes my look to another level, I use less foundation, everything looks flawless and stays flawless.

My suggestion is if you have combination to oily skin and you want an oil in your routine, I would say use it the way I use it. If you have dry skin you can use it all the time and you won't have a breakout problem. The oil really is a lovely product, it's very moisturising and does help with texture and dryness which I love. My skin feels incredibly soft after using the oil and stays soft through the day.

When it comes to the packaging of the products, it's sleek and even though it's plastic it doesn't look cheap. It's sturdy which makes it travel friendly and the labeling has all the information one needs. I found the pump did not spray product everywhere, which you may think is small but it can have you wasting product and if oil sprays everywhere it can cause stains on your clothing etc.

I do recommend these products, I think it's amazing to support small businesses as well. I can see how much effort Asma put into these products and I think she did an amazing job with them.
